All the budget friendly travel deals you need to know about right now

If you’ve been noticing a theme in my recent blog posts, they’re all about getting the heck out of here. Winter feels like it’s been about six months too long, which has made the two months I haven’t traveled feel like forever.

And as though the travel gods have been privy to the collective restlessness of all of us who are over this whole winter thing, the travel deals popping up in the last week have been almost too good to be true. Which means it would be kind of ungrateful of us not to receive these offerings and book a trip, really.

Here are all the best travel deals I’ve come across this week. May you be spoilt for choice for your next adventure.

Riviera Maya

The deal: Round trip tickets from New York City to Riviera Maya (via Cancun) for $234

The dates for the deal: Starting with May travel

The scoop: In case you weren’t sure, that $234 is for a ROUND TRIP plane ticket to Mexico from New York. I started looking into this as an option for a birthday trip and could honestly not believe my computer screen when the price came back that low. Get three friends, split a beach-side Airbnb, live off tacos and you could do a weekend away here for pretty close to $500. See here for the deals.

Paris

The deal: Round trip tickets from New York City to Paris for $390

The dates for the deal: Starting with May travel

The scoop: Norwegian has deals on flights to Paris right now, and though it’s never a bad time to hit up the City of Lights, spring is an especially good time to be there—with flowers everywhere, fewer tourists and (hopefully) all the croissants you want since France is still facing a butter shortage. $390 still sound like a lot? Look at it this way: if you skipped the $10 a day you could easily spend on a bagel/coffee/lunch, it would take you less than a month to save for the trip. The best deals will go to those with flexible travel dates, per usual. See here for the deals.

More on Paris: Here’s a second deal floating around for Paris: $599 for flights from NYC plus four nights in a boutique hotel. Done and done. Here’s the deal.

Charleston

The deal: Round trip tickets from New York City to Charleston, South Carolina for $164

The dates for the deal: Starting with May travel

The scoop: Looking for some Southern Charm? World-class shrimp and grits, maybe? Well turns out, flying to Charleston from New York City is about the same price as Sunday brunch with three mimosas + four nights worth of takeout. It’s ridiculous how affordable it is actually. JetBlue’s got deals for $164 roundtrip and bed n’ breakfast rates aren’t all that bad either. At this price, you could rationalize just going there for the food. (That’s one of the reasons Charleston won for this year’s birthday trip…stay tuned for more on that this month!) See here for the deals (scroll down on the page).

Cabo San Lucas

The deal: All-Inclusive 4-Star escape including flights for $449

The dates for the deal: April-May

The scoop: You need the sun. You’re on a budget. You don’t want to do any thinking. If this all sounds about right, you might want to get on this Cabo deal that basically does everything for you. For $449, your flight is paid, you’ll spend three nights in a 4-star resort, all your meals and drinks (yes, alcohol too) are included and you even get $300 in resort coupons that you could use at the spa. Or to play golf if that’s more your thing. I mean, just click and go get it.

Bahamas

The deal: All-Inclusive plus flights and hotel for $649

The dates for the deal: For travel starting July and August

The scoop: You kind of can’t beat the Caribbean for beaches. And the Bahamas is one of those places known for having those perfect-shade-of-teal waters where you can see the fish swimming at your feet. The island is also known for being on the pricier side, so $649 for airfare, four nights in a swank hotel, food and drinks plus airport to hotel and back taxis, is a steal. Find the deal here.

New Orleans

The deal: Round trip tickets from New York City to NOLA for $267

The dates for the deal: Starting with May travel

The scoop: I can never get enough of New Orleans: the food, the beignet, the food, the music, the food, the vibe, the gumbo. Also, the food. Whatever does it for you in the saucy southern city, any one of those things would be worth $267 for a round trip ticket. See here for the deal.

Punta Cana

The deal: All-Inclusive plus flights and hotel from $549

The dates for the deal: April-June

The scoop: It’s all about beaches right now as people look to flee places that aren’t warm and wrapped in crystalline waters. If you want your escape to be in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, starting at $549 depending on where you’re flying from, you can cover airfare, five nights in a resort and all you can eat and drink.
